Feedback And Changes

Once the game was in a playable state, we got people to play the game and give feedback on elements like movement and controls. This playtesting was very small and limited since we were remote working.

Feedback from Bayley’s player
Feedback from Benedict’s player.
  • So after getting this feedback we decided to edit the controls from pressing E on a character to talk, to pressing the mouse button to talk, then pressing E to go through the dialogue.
  • The cave was added behind Meryl as a visual indicator of where to go.
  • We moved the stairs (which turned into a ramp) slightly to feel more natural to traverse.
  • A reset was also added so that if the player falls of the edge they respawn back at the house. This point is a “lookout” spot so if the player respawns there they are instantly re-orientated because they can see most of the map from the high vantage point.
  • Controller compatibilty would be a good plus.
